'Halal (Arabic:حلال, ḥalāl; means lawful or legal) is a term designating any object or an action which is permissible to use or engage in, according to Islamic law. It is the opposite of haraam. The term is used to designate food seen as permissible according to Islamic law (Sharia, الشريعة الإسلامية).
With the complication of today's manufacturing and food production in Japan, it's hard to know what goes into the food we eat. Food labeling helps, but not everything is listed, and what is listed is often unkown.
This website attempts to accommodate the needs of Muslim brothers and sisters in selecting halal foods. The "halal" or "be-careful" status or label stamped on the foods listed in this site is based on the endeavor effort of the contributors. However, we are aware that there might be some deficiencies that result in imperfect results. The "label" is thus not unconditional. If you have further information that may result in different "label", please feel free to contact us.
